Established in 2010, SODIREX VIETNAM Co Ltd, the owner of the Mekong Gourmet brand, is a Vietnamese company with 100% foreign capital (Foreign Direct Investment). It is comprised of French and Vietnamese professionals who are passionate about their work in Asian trading for over a quarter of a century.
In line with the tradition of selecting the best products for export, we collaborate with planters, farmers, and agriculturalists, aiming to improve ethics, quality, and environmental sustainability. We stand alongside our cultivators in implementing Good Agricultural Practice (Global GAP), ensuring strict control over the elimination of pesticide use, and progressively adhering to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) principles. We are transitioning our packaging to eco-friendly alternatives, utilizing recyclable, biodegradable, and compostable materials such as bamboo straws, bio-plastic films and trays (made from cornstarch, cassava, or sugarcane), as well as FSC or PEFC certified cardboard boxes. Our packaging evolves in compliance with regulations and adheres to Food Safety standards, including FDA and European Standards.
As a globally oriented company, we primarily export to Europe and Asia.
We conduct market research in the agricultural sector, both for direct sourcing and for investors who consider agriculture as a recognized asset class, known as ‘real assets.’ In the face of global consumption challenges and climate change, the agricultural industry has reached a value of over 8 trillion USD worldwide, comparable to the value of all gold ever extracted. We contribute, on our scale, to meeting a portion of the international demand for limited exotic fruits. Vietnam has become a major player in agroforestry in Southeast Asia.

The origins date back to 1925, at the Comptoir des Epices in Indochina, where the ancestors of the founder of SODIREX Vietnam Co Ltd organized the harvest of salt and spices for France.
